What It’s Like to Work with Me

February 16, 2022

Cassie-New-Orleans-Wedding-PhotographerOne of the best things about being a New Orleans photographer is meeting so many amazing couples, from near and far, who appreciate this city and all its quirks – from the Mardi Gras beads stuck in trees from parades
past to the candy-colored shotgun homes to the shocking amount of chicken bones on any given street. (Seriously, New Orlesns, get it together).

If you’re reading this, you might be considering hiring me to shoot your New Orleans wedding. So I hope you’re ready to appreciate all my quirks!

Before you hire me to shoot your wedding, we start with a discovery call where we get to know each other. I want to understand your personality, your energy and a little about your love so I know what to expect and how to approach you on your wedding day. I want to make it clear that I will be on the dance floor with your family & sharing chargrilled oysters with your friends. And if we’re doing tequila shots, count me in!

Having spent many years in management, I understand how different people can be, and I try to meet you where you’re at. Taking the time to understand you as individuals makes such a big difference in the quality of photos we’re able to capture. Some clients need a photographer who can show up and give direction and reassurance, and others need someone to just show up and document.  It keeps me on my toes and allows me to bring a unique approach to each of my couples. Variety is the spice of life, right?

I always approach my weddings based on the individual couple instead of going in and trying to be an “artist” or with hopes of getting a specific shot for my portfolio. This approach allows me to capture raw emotion and create a space where you don’t feel the need to perform. Leave the performance to the wedding band. That’s their whole thing.

As your New Orleans photographer, I’m spending a large portion of the wedding day with you, and my goal is to blend in enough for people to assume I’m a wedding guest. Again, so no one judges me for eating all the oysters I can get my hands on. But seriously, making sure you have the most intentional and stylistic photos to remember your day by is my number one priority, and I will do everything in my power to make that happen.

New Orleans is a magical place, and together, I know we can capture that magic at your New Orleans wedding! Head here to get more info.
